High Hopes
Local gatherings have maintained popularity for hundreds of years. From traveling theater troupes and circuses visiting towns and hamlets, to barn-dances, modern carnivals and band tours. People love coming together for a good time. There is something special about local fairs and small-town festivals. The Sallis Homecoming Festival was the passion of the late, Mrs. Elnora Clark , and it remains the favorite gathering event for our rural community. Sallis Day is about much more than music and food, it's an annual celebration that brings people together who may not have seen one-another since the previous festival. It's a family fun day. Families running a vendor booth or food-truck together is one of my favorite things to see at the festival - it's all about UNITY. Over the years, Sallis Day has been blessed with a wide variety of live entertainment. We've had Motorcycle Clubs, Cowboys, Petting Zoo, Elvis Impersonator, Gospel Rapper, Face-Painters, Clowns, Hip-Hop Danc
